The OPNET simulations were a perfect example of the type of problem Clustor was designed to tackle. Kieren Power had previously spent months simulating his models manually using shell scripts. The advantage of Custor was that it automated the scheduling process across the two machines, and was quick and simple to set up. Before, Kieren divided the parameter that he wanted to simulated into 3 scripts to be run on separate machines. With Clustor only a single plan file was required, and jobs were automatically allocated to available computers without hassle.

A limiting factor on this project was that there were only 3 machines available with OPNET installed (only two were eventually used). There were a vast amount of input files associated with the adhoc model, so a shared NFS was also necessary. Therefore, the real power of Clustor to schedule jobs over many machines was not tested.  A small glimpse of its true potential was visible, even on two machines.  Clustor makes it simple and convenient to set up simulations with changing parameters and run them in the most efficient time possible with the available computers.
