Lecture 17 - Eye Contact

Need eye contact with the whole audience

Many speakers habitually look at a certain sections of the audience

Others look at their presentation equipment

How is it possible to make eye contact with 160 people?

It's hard for the audience to tell exactly who you're looking at

Mentally divide the room into sections, look at each section

Not enough to do this once - eye contact should be regular throughout the talk

For a smaller group

You can still divide the room into sections, or look at each member randomly

Focusing on one or two may make them and others uncomfortable
