  • non-commercial
  • personal
  • experimental
• now?
  • Very commercial
  • Used extensively for business communication
  • Still a strong personal element
  • An even stronger academic element
• Population mix has changed
• Etiquette has changed/evolved
• How have things changed?

• Random contact is less acceptable
