The Monash University Faculty of Information Technology is proud to announce an exposition entitled

"Global eScience using Computational Grids",

by Professor David Abramson.

At the expo, three technology kiosks will highlight locally developed software systems that enable eScience, including the world renown Nimrod family of tools. It will also include a gallery of photographs.

Computational Grids couple geographically distributed resources such as high-performance computers, workstations, clusters of computers, and scientific instruments. Grids have begun to provide the infrastructure to support global collaboration in science and engineering in ways that were not previously possible. They enable a new discipline called e-Science.

The work will be on display at

Computer Science and Software Engineering Gallery,
STRIP building (75),
Clayton campus,

Tuesday 18th May to Thursday 20th May,
9am to 5pm.
Admission is free.
