Computer Controlled Car, 1999

A simple radio controlled, toy car from "a well known store".

A small camera mounted on the car is connected to a low-powered TV transmitter.

The signal is picked up by a video recorder (with u/s heads) and fed into the video port on a Silicon Graphics Indy workstation.

Tim's computer program analyses the image, searches for the edges of the track (black cloth strips) and drives the car via the standard hand-set which was modified (by David Duke) so that it can be plugged into the Indy's serial port.
