04/11 --- PM UPDATE> as an aside, this is the last post that will go on this site. It will then go over to Monash to do whatever with it, so all this is now a matter of historical record.
04/11 --- Well it's been an absolutely mammoth gap since i've posted anything here and since then a lot has changed -- but not on this site. You'll notice the holes in these posts around the time deadlines came up! So this whole second half of the year has been one big deadline to get in my thesis, but the 1200+ hours i put in have paid off -- it looks good.
04/07 --- Into the final stages of writing the Lit. Review - hope to have it complete and up on the site soon. Once it is up I will have it looked over before final submission in August. The Draft is now up in the Current Progress section.
02/07 --- As of today all pages on this site are verified HTML 4.01 Transistional. All GIF images are now gone from the site in favor of PNG alpha images or JPEG for some lossy images. Go to burn all gifs for more info.
19/06 --- Holidays it seems are upon most students. Honours however are still slaving away, with an exam today and a project tomoroow and yes, another exam for some tomorrow... Hopefully some progress will be made in the next few weeks. The site has undergone some cosmetic consistency checking and re-coding for extra efficiency.
06/06 --- Minor site update: see section Current Progress. Uploaded final research proposal and interim presentation. Added timeline of tasks. TSU has fixed the Linux PC with video card.
23/04 --- Writing has begun on the research proposal, which is now on line (see the Current Progress section). This is being updated daily for submission on 2nd May.
22/04 --- The first update of this page since it went online
  • To date I have got the car, the car & controller are working in manual mode The video camera and transmitter are working
  • There are some issues with batteries. The car has little power & the transmiitter can't store any charge.
  • The software seems to work - I can't get an input because the PC is running a version of Linux that needs a patch to run the video card
