Dedication This thesis is dedicated to the great Chinese Buddhist Taoist Master Sifu Chow Yuk Nen. Master Sifu Chow Yuk Nen's teachings are unique and precious. They are applicable to every field of human endeavour. Through his unique and powerful ability to skilfully apply Chinese Buddhist Teachings, his students and those he has helped, have achieved success in computing, chemical engineering, business, accounting, philosophy, sport and more. Master Sifu Chow Yuk Nen has developed special physical training techniques that can transform the mind and body of any person. Master Sifu Chow Yuk Nen's training techniques have healed many physical ailments, including those that could not be cured by doctors or other therapists. Master Sifu Chow Yuk Nen's physical training is incredibly beneficial to anyone who practices it. Another remarkable result of this training is that it produces a mind of clarity, calmness, and determination as well as extraordinary levels of fitness, which many people, including myself, have experienced. These remarkable training techniques are among the many unique methods Master Sifu Chow Yuk Nen uses to produce excellence in academia, and in all areas of life. Master Sifu Chow Yuk Nen has been cited in a number of dedications in the academic works of his other students. One such student is Dr Chris Churchill who completed his doctoral dissertation in 2003, titled "System as a Concept in the Tradition of Metaphysics" at Monash University. The key points among the glowing appraisals from the examiners of Dr Churchill's work were:
The points above highlight only a few of the abilities and skills that Master Sifu Chow Yuk Nen develops in his students. It is extremely difficult to be on par with Master Sifu Chow Yuk Nen; he produces the highest excellence and academic brilliance in those he teaches. Master Sifu Chow Yuk Nen kindly taught, instructed and helped me with this thesis. However, as I did not follow Master Sifu Chow Yuk Nen's Buddhist teachings, I failed to perform to the high standard of academic achievement he had developed in me and other students. The other major reason I did not perform to the highest academic standards is that I did not have help from anyone else; this includes academics of all descriptions. To receive any help, I had to go to my mentor who is also my spiritual teacher, Master Sifu Chow Yuk Nen. He immediately addressed these issues, helping me to clearly see and understand the problem at hand. His guidance secured me a second class honours (HIIA), which I could not have achieved otherwise. Master Sifu Chow Yuk Nen has given me the motivation and the ability to get into honours, and to perform work of high quality even within extremely short time periods. This project was made possible by him, and would not have been performed without him and his teachings. I would like to express my great appreciation and thanks to Master Sifu Chow Yuk Nen for all his teachings, help and guidance he has generously given to me.
Since completing honours at Monash University in 2003, I have now commenced Masters by Research (2004-2005), thanks to Master Sifu Chow Yuk Nen's guidence, great support and instruction, at La Trobe Unversity under the supervision of Dr Justin Wang. My new homepage can be found here. |
