Knowledge Engineering

The scope of this project entail a vast amount of knowledge and interaction being communicated between myself, my supervisors Dr Ann Nicholson and Dr Charles Twardy at Monash University and the Harbourwatch team in Sydney in particular Geoff Gordon. To keep track of the projects direction and get vital feedback from all involved, I desgined the project to be implemented with the use of the spiral model for the creation of the different Bayesian Network models.

The Spiral Model, shown below, forces the validation and testing of each model as it is created, ensuring that my models don't get to far of track. This approach has been adapted slightly through the course of the year as the evaluation software was not implemented until the final stages of the honours year. Further rotations of the spiral model can now be easily completed with this software.
