Future work

• Board construction

The schematic design must be routed according to the specifications of the equipment being used to manufacture it. For example the number of layers must be within the capabilities of the machine being used.

 

• Testing and debugging

Thorough testing of the hardware must be carried out once the PCB had been populated. This would include the synthesis of all VHDL code.

 

• VHDL enhancements

Implementation of additional VHDL would be beneficial, such as flow control on the UART transceiver to allow higher transmission speeds. Also the implementation of the designed transmission protocol
