ConceptBib: Tool for integrating Concept Maps and Bibliographic Management
BSE Honours by Phan Anh Le, in the School of Computer Science and Software Engineering (CSSE) at Monash University, Clayton, 2004. This project was under supervision of Dr. David Squire Abstract There is always demands for more effective of knowledge management (KM) in order to optimize its use. Various efforts have been put forward in research into sound KM. Amongst those is the use of concept maps (CMs) to structure information into the graphical forms showing advantages in representing the relationships amongst illustrated entities. There are also practical applications that can speed up, as well as increase the power and usefulness of KM process. However, there still exists the gap among two fields. We believe that their strengths can be further exploited if they appear in a single tool. This tool will enable users to generate concept maps, to affix references to supporting evidence, and to interactively update the users' reference databases such as BibTeX or EndNote. Download description Thesis(pdf): The final report of the project. It explains the motivations, some related programs and bibliographic that were reviewed, technology used in the project Proposal: The aims and preliminary schedule of the project. Literature review: discussion of existing software, and applications. Presentation (pdf and large): Software Engineering final presentation. Programs: The source code that was implemented within the project. It need Dia to run. Continuation: Our aims include open sourcing the project so that as many people enjoy the software and contribute to it as possible. We are in the process of submitting it to Savannah repository, and would maintain an ongoing project there shortly. Please come back later. |
