Hi, my name is Joel Ponianto. I'm currently undertaking Bachelor of Software Engineering and this is my last year (fourth year). This website is dedicated for my honours project, you can find out all about this project and its result or progress.

I have faced a lot of difficulties with this project and I cannot guarantee a good quality, but I have worked hard for this project and gived my best to provide a significant result. This project would not come this far without the help, guidance, assistance and patience of my supervisor Dr Sid Ray, for that I forever grateful.

Let me remind you that this area of research is still developing, so there are many researchers that are still working on this topic to improve it. What I did with my project was simply gathered previous finding about the area of research and combined all those findings to reach the target of this project and came up with some kind of conclusion.

In recent years Content-Based Image Retrieval (CBIR) has become one of the most active areas of research in image processing. The purpose of a CBIR system is to retrieve images from a database whose visual contents are similar to that of a query image. Two key research aspects (see below) in CBIR are

1. Representation of visual features such as colour, texture and shape, followed by indexing of image in terms of multi-dimensional features and
2. Use of relevance feedback in the retrieval process.
