Abstract:
This bibliography includes the results of two related literature searches. 1) Connectionist approaches to language, with emphasis on a) language acquisition and b) knowledge representation techniques for both language specific and general world knowledge. 2) The best current approaches to distributed representation of language and world knowledge assume some underlying feature set with which the objects in the network's environment are defined. No one has a good set of primitive features. So, I turned to the linguists to find out how they're doing on defining techniques and algorithms for automatically extracting semantic structure (including primitive features) from existing dictionaries.
