The 4th Australian Women in Computing Workshop was held at the University of Melbourne, Australia on July 1st, 1997 (preceding the 2nd Australasian Computer Science Education Conference July 2-4). The aim of the workshop was to promote the exchange of information and ideas through both presentations and dicussion. Approximately 90 people attended the workshop. In addition to the keynote speaker, Professor Penelope M. Sanderson, Director of the Swinburne Computer-Human Interaction Laboratory (SCHIL), 12 speakers took part in paper presentations and panels, based on their submissions which are included in these proceedings.
