The artificial intelligence and machine learning group covers diverse sub fields in the area of AI including:

• MML theory and applications
• planning in stochastic domains, dynamic belief networks and plan recognition
• user modelling, speech understanding, natural language generation, argument analysis and generation
• inductive learning and learning causal structure
• probabilistic prediction
• cognitive science and philosophy of science
• data mining
• game theory

This school research group is part of a larger Faculty of Information Technology AI research group.
