Expertise and research interests

Intelligent signal processing in communication networks, network QoS and congestion control, network traffic modelling and prediction, communication electronics and computer architecture, video and image processing.

Background

Bin Qiu received his PhD degree from the University of Manchester (UMIST) in 1989, From 1990 to 1994, he was a lecturer at the Victoria University of Technology. From 1995 to 2002, he was a senior lecturer at Monash University. His research interests include neuro-fuzzy and other intelligent algorithms in communication networks, traffic modelling and prediction, and in video and image processing. He is also interested in communications hardware implementations and computer architecture. Dr Qiu has been chairing as well as a member of technical committees for various prestigious international conferences and the IEEE Communications Society SPCE Committee.
