| CERG Special Events Forthcoming EventsThe Fifth Melbourne Computing Education Conventicle (MCEC2008) is being held at the University of Melbourne on Friday, 14 Nov 2008. See the web page for more information. Special EventsCERG has organised and hosted the following events: Working with Statistics in Computing Education Research (WSCER)Presenter: Graeme Byrne (LaTrobe University) The WSCER workshop was organised by CERG for the computing education community both nationally and internationally. This was conducted over two days immediately prior to the Australasian Computing Education conference in January 2007. There were 16 participants. The workshop was designed to develop knowledge and skills in quantitative data analysis, with an emphasis on understanding what questions can be asked of different types of data. Participants at the workshop gained practical experience in:
1st Melbourne Computing Education ConventicleThe conventicle was a one day mini-conference where people were invited to present recently published work. This event provided an opportunity for sharing of ideas and for the development of collaborations. Its aim was to support academics who are researching and teaching in the computer science and information technology disciplines, or who are using computer technology in their teaching. Here is the link to the website with information about the program. 2nd Melbourne Computing Education ConventicleThis Conventicle was a one-day conference, held 1n November 2005 at Swinburne University. Both John Hurst and Judy Sheard were on the organizing committee for this event. |
