Assessment

The basic components of assessment are:

• 2 assignments, each worth 20%
• a two-hour end of semester exam, worth 60%
• a practical hurdle, worth 0%, but which must be passed. A pass in the practical hurdle is 8 or more marks gained over the 6 lab sessions, each of which is worth a maximum of 2 marks.

Marks will be accumulated in MUSO, so that students can track their progress through the semester.

Assignment Extensions

Want an extension of time to complete an assignment? Just use the Application For Extension Of Time For Submission Of An Assessment Task available on the faculty web site.

Examinations

The exam in this unit is a 3 hour written paper, weighted at 60% of the final assessment grade, with an exam hurdle of 40% (must get at least 40% in exam to pass unit overall).

Past Examinations

This is the first year of teaching for the unit FIT2022. However, the material covered is drawn from previous units, and some sample examinations using material from those units are available here to give students some idea of what might be expected. Further details about the exam format will be forthcoming.

It is suggested that you attempt the paper itself first, then review the solutions once you have attempted an answer. This will reinforce your learning and understanding.
