Welcome to FIT3013. This home page is provided as a continuation of past home pages in this unit, and will serve as an additional source of reference for students in the unit. If the information you seek is not here, drop me a note and I'll endeavour to fix it for you.
Please note that these pages need to be read in conjunction with the Moodle resource for this unit. At the head of each of these pages, the word "Moodle" is a link to the Moodle page for the unit, and at the head of the Moodle Home page for the unit is a link "FIT3013 Home Page" to this page. Other Moodle pages may link to various sub-pages here (such as assignments). Generally speaking, there are more links to other resources in the web pages, while the Moodle pages are used for tools such as the wiki, discussion boards, and grade book.
The two systems should normally be in synchronism, where content is replicated - such as lecture notes. Bear in mind that the web pages are the source files, so if there is any difference, the web page will be more up-to-date. Please let me know if you do find any discrepancies.
Notwithstanding that, I will endeavour to keep these both the
web and Moodle pages as accurate as possible (as always!
). On that note, at the bottom of this page you will
see a "Check this page for bad links" button. If you do find
any missing link, please click this button to confirm the error,
and send me the URL of the page that results. I'll try and fix
that ASAP!
Read this section to get an overview of the prerequisite knowledge, unit syllabus, and learning outcomes for the unit. There is also a link to the unit guide, essential reading for succesful study of the unit. Also available on this page is a discussion of improvements made to this unit, and reflections on what works, doesn't work, and might work in the future.
Read this page to see all the detail on lectures and tutorials. There are no laboratory sessions for this unit.
During 2010, we are trialling a new system developed by CERG which will give students an opportunity to give feedback in real-time during the lecture.
This page links to lecture notes, Rodin reference documents, examples and their solutions, and web documents
