This is a great book! It provides a well written description of all sorts of techniques (as the title says) giving where possible enough information to implement the algorithm's discussed without further consulting the references. Code for some of the routines is also presented. A reprinted version corrects some of the errors in the first printing.
I would highly recommend this book to any computer animation programmer. It is a detailed, understandable text with useful information on topics otherwise only covered in SIGGRAPH proceedings and so forth. Further, the book provides the authors' considered opinions on the usefulness and quality of existing work in each section.Alan Dorin, 9 Dec 94
