Data Visualisation for Distributed Computing Tools

Supervisors: Prof. David Abramson and Blair Bethwaite

The Nimrod toolkit provides distributed execution services for coarse grained parallel computing. Such high-throughput computing includes common techniques such as parameter sweeps and optimisation driven searches, and also richer heterogeneous-task workflows. This project involves authoring a suite of graphing utilities to visualize execution data that is of routine interest in publications regarding distributed computing. Depending on the progress made with this initial task there is scope to extend the work to dynamic visualisation of live execution data and integrate this into an existing web-based GUI”.
