The Australian Computer Society (ACS) professional development program has two components, the Practicing Computer Professional (PCP) program and the Certification Program leading to the qualification Certified Member of the Australian Computer Society (CMACS). Data Communications 2 is one of the elective subjects in the CMACS program.

This subject also discusses the major issues faced by network controllers and managers (such as network management and security) and will assist students to gain awareness of the strategic business applications being created to take advantage of these technological alternatives.
