Question 30. One of the key business changes leading to the need to consider switched internetwork technology for enterprise internetworks is the growing traffic on enterprise intranets. The old rule that 80% of traffic to and from a workstation was on the local network is no longer valid. Workstations are accessing multiple servers, those on the local subnet (workgroup) and those in the rest of the enterprise. The questions faced by network managers are these, are routers able to provide the quality of service required? How can higher internetwork traffic levels to be met?
