HPC 2001 will include a special track on High Performance Simulation Environments. The High Performance Computing 2001 is the 9th annual symposium devoted to the impact of High Performance Computing and Computer Simulation. It is part of the 2001 Advanced Simulation Technology Conference (ASTC 2001) organized by The Society for Computer Simulation (for more information see http://www.scs.org/).
Simulation using high performance computers has become the preferred method of design for a number of disciplines, including aircraft and automotive manufacture, electronics and RF design, environmental engineering, chemical engineering and rational drug design. The driving technologies common to these different areas are the availability of affordable super-computing hardware and robust computational models. However, there are very few generic computational frameworks that support the routine application of simulation models in the product design and development cycle. Contributions to this track will discuss leading edge work in the area of software tools for supporting the application of simulation models.

Only papers which have not been previously published or presented should be submitted. Authors must obtain employer, client, or government releases prior to submittal of the full camera ready paper. All accepted papers will be published in the High Performance Computing 2001 proceedings and must be presented by one of the authors at the conference. Anticipated conference fees will be $395.00 (U.S.).
