Final Paper Submission Page
Final Paper Submission Deadline: 1 March 2003.
This page allows authors of accepted papers to submit their final camera-ready copy (CRC) electronically. It
allows us (the guest editors of the special issue) to do some
final checking before handing the special issue papers over to JSS - especially
completeness of submission meta-data, satisfactory final revisions and acceptable paper length.
After proof reading we may get back to you for some final
editing touches - or we will do simple format changes ourselves.
Hence we need both a text processing and a printable version
of your text (details further down).
In any event we will get back to you.
We require a printable version of the text in PDF format and the
source to produce this. Note: The CRC format used in the final print differs from the
manuscript format for the initial submission.
There are two options:
- Authors may use Latex and produce a double-column CRC format
paper in the Elsevier Latex format. The Latex will be used by
Elsevier directly to produce the final paper from your submission.
You will find this format at the JSS Latex authors'
page. Look for "double-column CRC" in the bottom half of that page.
Regarding the PDF you produce, note that you can use
"pdflatex" on most Unix systems to produce PDF that prints well on
other systems. If "pdflatex" is not installed on your Unix system you
may use the package "truetype" to improve the online readability and
the print of your paper.
- Use the Elsevier JSS manuscript format
(required for the initial submission). You will find a detailed
description of this format at the JSS ACBSE
submission format page. Elsevier will rekey your submission from the printed
paper. Therefore the manuscript format is in larger font and double-spaced.
The retyping process may invite errors, require
more proofing and hence more time.
Our email to authors explicitly specifies
the page limit in units of CRC pages. If you do not submit in Latex
format, please multiply the page budget allocated to you by a factor of 2.1
which accounts for the difference in font size, spacing and page setup.
For example, if we allocated 10 pages in double-column CRC format, allow
for no more than 21 pages manuscript format.
Before submitting please check one last time: Does your submission
- address all reviewers' comments,
- follow the format requirements above,
- stay within or below the allocated page budget?
If your submissions meets the above requirements, please follow the instructions, step-by-step, and
then use the "Submit" button at the bottom of the form.
