Second Iteration : ackonwledgements & updates

The Second Iteration : emergence conference could not have happened without the generous assistance of many. I would like to acknowledge the support of the School of Computer Science and Software Engineering and the Faculty of Art and Design at Monash University. They provided additional staff and infrastructure to enable the event to run. Specifically, thankyou David Abramson and Trevor Dix for their support. Thanks especially must be made to (and for) the able and patient administrative assistance of Shiranthi Ponniah, Fran Boyce, and their respective assistants.

Thankyou to Troy Innocent for organizing the location and additional support as he did for First Iteration! Special thanks to Dylan Nichols for his patient and relaxed approach to the design of the printed programme notes, the poster and flyer. Thanks to Peter McIlwain of The School of Music - Conservatorium at Monash for his assistance regarding the audio submissions and during the early planning stages for the event. Thankyou to all of the paper reviewers, the art and audio panellists and judges (listed individually elsewhere in the proceedings). A special thankyou to the students and other volunteers who graciously assisted in running the event so smoothly. Of course a great big thankyou to all of the invited guests, panellists and other speakers, and to all of those who submitted their papers, artworks and ideas or who came along as audience members. There'd be nothing to see without your hard work and enthusiastic support!

Thankyou to Philip Bird and Amelia King at Cinemedia's Digital Media Fund for their financial support, Second Iteration : emergence could not have happened without it. Finally, a thankyou to Jon McCormack who, although he could not assist this year in the same capacity as for First Iteration, had considerable influence on the way Second Iteration panned out. Jon's assistance both indirectly through discussion, and directly through written and organizational contributions, has as always, been invaluable.
