Workshop: Editing the Thesis

Amanda Everaert
    5%
+2         thesis: pdf +Latex +software +data @[web-site] 31 Oct hurdle
+2         thesis hardcopy 31 Oct 80%

The thesis will be 20 to 30 sides (A4, 11-point), not counting the literature survey and appendices (e.g. programs, documentation and data-sets, but these are probably better reserved for the web-site). It may be somewhat longer if it contains a great many figures and tables. The thesis must be prepared in Latex, and must be submitted as (i) a printed version (2 copies), (ii) a postscript or pdf file, (iii) with the Latex source), and also (recommended) (iv) an HTML file. Program-source and data files must also be submitted and the combined information stored on the Faculty web site; see above.

Hurdle Penalties: The Honours project mark will be multiplied by (100-p)/100 where `p' is the total numerical penalty points accumulated. Particularly note the requirement to attend and evaluate at least the specified minimum number of seminars each semester and to submit seminar evaluation forms to the CSSE office (Clayton) -- immediately after the seminars! Attendance at (all!) the S.E. final honours presentations is also compulsory.
