Comment | It is confirmed in your link [A]. It get some 50k Google hits. It appears in children's stories. I wonder if you would consider promotion so that it can come up on a first search. The context in which I have seen it does not leave room for doubt about the translation. |

Headword 1 | 寡筆家 |
Reading 1 | かひつか |
Part-of-speech | n |
English 1 | an author who writes very rarely |
Reference | Came across the word here: http://ja.wikipedia.org/wiki/王雀孫
This page however does not explain the word. I figured it out from other jukugo that contained the kanji 寡 (such as 寡作である 【かさくである】 be far from prolific; produce one's works at rare intervals), and Google searches (one of the results: "寡筆なトマス・ハリスだけれど" - Thomas Harris is famous for being the author of The Silence of the Lambs but he writes exceedingly rarely.) I was unable to find any authoritative source for the reading, but it's pretty obvious. I did find one quotation where it was jokingly contrasted with 過筆 ("不勉強な「寡筆」タイプも困るけど生活のための「過筆」もどうも 筆が荒れるようで宜しくない"), so I take it that kahitsu is an appropriate reading for it. |

Editorial Comment | I looked hard at this. 寡筆家 gets 24 Google hits. One is the Wikipedia page and the rest are quotations from it. I think it's possibly a word constructed by the author of that page. Without several independent sightings, I don't think it should be added. |
