Current Entry | 洛中洛外図 [らくちゅうらくがいず] /(exp) (see 洛中洛外,図) views in and around the city of Kyoto (paintings and drawings)/ |
Headword 1 | 洛中洛外図 |
Reading 1 | らくちゅうらくがいず |
Part-of-speech | exp |
English 1 | (see 洛中洛外,図) views in and around the city of Kyoto (paintings and drawings) |
Comment | Well, the ず reading of 図 is there already. I feel this entry is a bit redundent. What do others think?
-- when i saw it, i was going to submit an amendment suggesting that 洛中洛外図 be kept and 洛中洛外 be deleted. all dictionaries have the former (not the latter), and a google for 洛中洛外 -洛中洛外図 gets about 300 'real' japanese hits, including lots of false positives, proper names, etc. there are already entries for 洛中 and 洛外, so the meaning of 洛中・洛外 is pretty clear. 洛中洛外図 = idiomatic; 洛中洛外 = not so much but i don't know. i guess it doesn't do any harm to keep 洛中洛外 |

Comment | I seems this is the best equivalent for an IP ban on a website. I talked with a former Japanese student and she agreed this means "ban". She also agreed "to be banned" would be 追放になる. |
