Editorial Comment | Already an entry with the reading しんい (as in 広辞苑). 神威/かむい is already in enamdict. |
Current Entry | 種々 [しゅしゅ] /(?) ???/RH/ |
Headword 1 | 種々 |
Reading 1 | しゅしゅ |
Part-of-speech | ? |
English 1 | ??? |
English 2 | RH |
Reference | See below. |
Comment | I am wondering if the above RH was not removed in your sweeping exercise because it has the reading of "しゅしゅ" as opposed to "しゅじゅ."
See the following entries:- 種々 【しゅじゅ】 various (adj); a variety of (adj); miscellaneous (adj); myriad (adj,n); LS 種々(P); 種種 【しゅじゅ(P); くさぐさ】 (adj-na,adj-no,adv,n) variety; (P) Should the RH be deleted? |

Editorial Comment | クリスマス島 is already an enamdict entry. Added キリスィマスィ島. |
Current Entry | 修道服 [?] /frock/nun's habit/WI2/ |
Headword 1 | 修道服 |
Reading 1 | しゅうどうふく |
Part-of-speech | n |
English 1 | nun's habit |
English 2 | frock (garment worn by monks and friars) |
Reference | Seeing that frock nowadays means something quite different (from m-w:)
1 : an outer garment worn by monks and friars : habit 2 : an outer garment worn chiefly by men: a : a long loose mantle b : a workman's outer shirt; especially : smock frock c : a woolen jersey worn especially by sailors 3 : a woman's dress (Although I'm not a native speaker of English, it is my experience that frock usually refers to the second item here) 修道服 is only used to describe religious garments, such as habits (and frocks in the first sense that M-W provides). Therefore I think "frock" needs clarification. |
