Editorial Comment | かしめる is fine, but with that kanji? None of my 国語辞典 have it that way, and the kanji seems to mean scissors. Also, "to caulk". |

Comment | The entry translates 垂直線 as "perpendicular line", but the example sentence refers to a "vertical line".
The confusion seems to stem from the fact that 垂直 can also mean "vertical" as well as "perpendicular". The exact meaning seems to depend on context: e.g. whenever relative to something else, "perpendicular" is implied. In other cases, the meaning is "vertical". That's only my interpretation, however, I haven't been able to find an explanation that backs this up. |

Editorial Comment | To me perpendicular and vertical are can be synonyms. Perpendicular is broader, meaning at right angles to anything, whereas vertical means it is to the horizon. I see Wordnet has two senses for perpendicular reflecting this. GG5 glosses 垂直線 as "a vertical [perpendicular] line". |

Comment | Adding alternate (seemingly more common) reading. I'm not sure if the more order of the readings is supposed to go most to least common or not; if so, you may want to put せかいじゅ as Reading 1 and せいかいじゅ as Reading 2. |
