The sequel to The Blues Brothers was released in 1998. Directed by John Landis, it sees Dan Aykroyd return as Elwood Blues and John Goodman featuring as Mighty Mack McTeer. Most of the band return and there are numerous cameos, including appearances by B.B. King, Aretha Franklin and James Brown.
The plot for Blues Brothers 2000 is similar to that of The Blues Brothers, with Elwood having to raise money for Sister Mary Stigmata for a children's hospital. The aim is to win the New Orleans Battle of the Bands, but along the way Elwood is chased by the cops, the Russian Mafia and a militia group.
