LENGTH OF COURSE:

Four years full-time with an eight year time limit. Part time students double these time limits.

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS:

VCE Units 3 & 4: English (C), and Mathematical Methods (D).

Please Note that Specialist Mathematics is no longer part of the entry requirements to BSE. It was one of the requirements for admission in the 1999 intake of BSE. It still appears in our old BSE brochures which should be ignored.

CREDIT PROVISION AND TRANSITION:

Because this proposal replaces the existing BSE, approved by UEC mtg 7/97, item 13.1.1, there are a number of students already undertaking the course who will be affected by the restructuring. The transition arrangements proposed are: Students who have completed ENG1601 (currently core) will be exempt from CSE1401 Students who have completed CSE1305 (currently elective) will be exempt from CSE1402 Failures in ENG1601 will be required to complete CSE1401 in lieu ENG1601 and CSE1401 will be prohibited combinations

FEE STRUCTURE:

The BSE is funded under the DEETYA recurrent grant. Enrolments are HECS liable and fall in Band 2 (Engineering/Science). 1998 fees: International students $15,000 Australian full fee $14,050
