The most well known component models are COM, CORBA, Java and .NET. This presentation will concentrate on one component model, namely .NET, and highlight its functionality by comparing it with aspects of Java. About the speaker: Although Tony Goodhew now works in Redmond, he is an Australian who started his career with Microsoft in 1990. Since then he has worked for Gupta, AT&T and IBM. Tony has been involved with .NET since the start of its development, and in the last 3 years has been lead product manager for C#. Tony initiated the ECMA standardisation efforts for the C# language and the Common Language Infrastructure and is currently the lead product manager responsible for Microsoft's Java strategy, messaging and the JUMP to .NET toolset.
